Yes, cannabis dispensaries have been on the rise in Massachusetts since the legalization of recreational marijuana in 2016. As of April 2023, there are over 140 licensed dispensaries throughout the state.

The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) oversees the regulation of the state’s cannabis industry, including the licensing of dispensaries. The CCC has established strict regulations for dispensaries to ensure that they operate in compliance with state law and provide safe and high-quality products to consumers.

In addition to dispensaries, Massachusetts also allows for home cultivation of marijuana for personal use, with certain restrictions. The state has also established a social equity program to promote participation in the industry by individuals from communities that were disproportionately impacted by the war on drugs.

Overall, the legalization of marijuana has brought significant changes to Massachusetts, and the growth of cannabis dispensaries is just one aspect of this evolving landscape.  We have provided a few known dispensaries below.
